About the Author

Tim Hargis is a literacy coach for the Kentwood Public Schools in Kentwood Michigan, and he is also a National Writing Project Teacher Consultant. In addition, Tim is an adjunct professor of English at Grand Valley State University. Previously, he worked as a classroom teacher for the Grand Rapids Public Schools, teaching sixth and third grades. Before teaching, Tim was a news writer and then a news producer for WLWT-TV, the NBC affiliate in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Tim enjoys working with teachers and students in the area of literacy. He holds degrees from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan. Tim is a lifelong writer and lover of words. He lives with his wife and daughter in Grand Rapids, MI.
